Who doesn’t love pizza? We certainly do…

Just in time for the weekend, we have curated a list of our top 3 places to grab the best pizza in town. Glasgow food scene keeps getting better and better with the pizza game stronger than ever.

We are seeing new restaurants, cafes and bars opening up pretty much every week giving Glasgow foodies somewhere new to try daily.

Whether you are craving a thin crispy base, fancy toppings, or a simple ‘straight out the wood-fire oven’ pizza – there is something for everyone and here are our favourites.

We are kicking things off with Paesano, an all time favourite and the obvious option but we can’t get enough. With two restaurants in Glasgow, one on Miller Street and one in West End, Paesano lovers will be delighted to here they are also opening a sister restaurant, Sugo. Taking over the Glasgow pizza scene – this venue is cheap and cheerful.

Starting from £5, these pizzas are seriously fresh and great value for money. We would recommend the fresh funnel sausage with sugo, mozzarella and evoo – it’s mouthwatering! We have also tried and tested a popular vegetarian option which was the mushroom, spinach, mozzarella, ricotta, oregano, garlic and evoo with no tomato pizza.

Remember to leave room for dessert as the ice-cream is something you can’t leave without trying. Try the vanilla with chocolate sauce, you will not regret.

New to the food scene but none the less worthy of being in our top 3, Piatto, opened its doors last month to the public. Located on Skirving Street, this authentic Southside eatery offers fresh Italian food including a variety of pizza, pasta, ciabattas and chicken dishes.

We recommend a slice of the pancetta and parmesan with a freshly ground coffee to wash it down.

We reckon this will be the new hot spot for Italian food, very quickly.

Pizza Punks

Pizza Punks, located on St Vincent Street is serving up some of the best toppings and interesting pizzas in Glasgow.

With two wood-fired ovens, neon signs and cool interiors – this pizza joint is an Instagram hot spot. Unlike our first two spots, this isn’t your traditional Italian pizza. You can ‘punk up’ your pizza with unlimited customisable toppings at a set price.

They even have their own Scottish pizza which has red sauce, mozzarella, bacon, square sausage, black pudding, potato scone, egg AND a choice of ketchup or HP sauce…. don’t think we need to say anything else.

And there you have it! The best pizza in town, head on down to one of our pizza joints this weekend to land in food heaven.
