Big Screen Classic Meets Open Air Cinema
Boogie in the Botanics to change up your weekend!
From Thursday 15th until Sunday 18th August, Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens will host an open-air cinema for a week of ‘Boogie In The Botanics’.
The movies on show are a range of musical films that aim to give visitors a nostalgic feel and hopefully make them want to sing and dance! Visit West End, the event organisers, are encouraging attendees to dress up for the occasion, dependent upon the movie their coming to see.
Dirty Dancing, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Saturday Night Fever and Singin’ in the Rain are all back on the big screen for you to enjoy al fresco style at this unique experience.
Dig out your picnic basket and blankets, or even some sun chairs, if you’re heading along – after all, you’ll want to be comfy and enjoy the movie. If making up a picnic basket seems like a lot of work, then you’re in luck! The botanic garden kiosk will open late and, in true cinema style, offer popcorn, hot dogs and soft drinks.
As always in Glasgow parks, even at those unsolicited summer Facebook event’s, alcohol is not permitted into Botanic Gardens. If you’re after a drink post-movie, then it’s only a stone throw from the Oran Mor and BeGin.
If you are interested in something different or reminiscing over a classic, then you can still grab tickets on the Visit West End website. It’s one for the whole family, even the dog is allowed!
